These Roasted Green Beans with garlic and herbs is a quick and delicious side dish idea! They pair perfectly with almost any dish!

This dish is always a hit here! My family loves it with Baked Pork Chops or Parmesan Crusted Salmon.

Green beans are probably the least exciting vegetable out there. Let's change that! Forger the canned beans and grab a bunch of fresh bright green beans and let's roast them with garlic and seasoning. This side dish is delicious and so easy to make. The beans roast in the oven very quickly. Serve them with roasted chicken, salmon, shrimp, meatloaf, etc. Any dish really!

    Ingredients:

    • fresh green beans
    • garlic
    • Italian seasoning
    • olive oil
    • salt and pepper
Ingredients for Roasted Green Beans on a marble board.

    How to roast green beans?

    • Prepare the beans: wash and trim.
    • Toss beans with olive oil, garlic and seasoning.
    • Arrange green beans in a single layer on a baking sheet. Use two sheets if needed.
    • Roast for about 20 minutes.
Step 1 and 2 of roasting green beans.

    Trimming

There is not much of prep when it comes to green beans. All you need to do is trim the ends and that's it! You can cut them in half, depending on the dish. For roasting, I leave them whole.

    Roasting time

Green beans roast quite quickly. I roasted mine for 20 minutes, flipping once halfway through baking.

    Variations:

    • Parmesan Green Beans: after roasting, sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese (or mozzarella) over green beans and let it melt.
    • Bacon Green Beans: cook bacon in skillet until crispy, then toss with green beans (skip the oil) and roast.
    • Air Fryer Green Beans: mix beans with seasoning and a drizzle of olive oil and cook in air fryer for 8 minutes.
