Garlic Butter Cheesy Breadsticks - the easiest way to make cheese-filled breadsticks, made with crescent roll dough, garlic butter, and cheese!

Serve these amazing breadsticks with a bowl of Roasted Tomato Soup or 30-Minute One Pan Lasagna!

If you are looking for an easy breadstick recipe, I have one just for you! It's very easy since we are using a shortcut. I rolled out two tubes of crescent roll dough, pinched the seams and layered cheese between them. Best idea ever! Quick, easy and the result is flaky, buttery, cheesy breadsticks. But wait! I also brushed the top dough with garlic butter before baking for more flavor. Score!

These Garlic Butter Cheesy Breadsticks are the easiest and so easy to make thanks to the store-bough roll dough. I used this shortcut in my Garlic Parmesan Skillet Rolls recipe and my Garlic Pull-Apart Rolls recipe. These breadsticks are simply perfect with a big bowl of soup or pasta. So delicious!

    Ingredients:

    • crescent roll dough
    • butter
    • garlic
    • Parmesan cheese

    Instructions:

Start by preheating the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Remove the dough from tubes and roll out one of them right on the parchment paper. Pinch seams to seal (the dough is scored into triangles, we need a whole piece of dough). Use a rolling pin to smooth it out. Top with 1.5 cups of shredded cheese.

Roll out the second dough and pinch seams. Place on top of cheese and pinch sides to seal both layers of dough. Brush the top dough with garlic butter and top with remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.

Bake breadsticks for 15 to 18 minutes or until the top is golden. Remove from oven and score with a pizza cutter while the dough is still warm. Let cool and serve.

What is crescent dough and where to find it?

In the refrigerated section of your grocery stores, you can find tubes with roll dough and biscuit dough. The crescent roll dough is perforated into 8 triangles, that you can separate, roll up and bake to make easy flaky crescent rolls. For this recipe, you need to pinch the seams to seal them and make one sheet of the dough. So easy!

    Topping ideas:

    • three cheese breadsticks - combine Fontina, Parmesan and mozzarella cheese for an extra cheesy indulgence.
    • pizza breadsticks - great quick lunch idea for busy weekdays. Just top the dough with pizza sauce, pepperoni and more cheese!
    • creamy herb center - combine cream cheese with Italian seasoning and garlic and spread on bottom layer. Top with second dough layer and more cheese before baking.

Can you use canned pizza dough instead of the crescent dough?

Pillsbury also makes their crescent dough as a single sheet just for recipes like these.
