This Sauteed Kale with bacon, onion and garlic is a delicious and easy side dish you can make in under 15 minutes. This dish will become your favorite to make with this leafy green vegetable!

This kale is quick and easy to make in one skillet, like my Sauteed Mushrooms or Fried Cabbage recipes!

Can I make this dish ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can prepare the dish, cool completely and place in a container with lid. I like the glass meal prep containers. Keep it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or a microwave.

What to serve with sauteed kale?

This side dish pairs perfectly with pork, chicken or seafood. Here are my favorites:

    • Air Fryer Shrimp
    • Braised Pork Chops
    • Instant Pot Pork Tenderloin
    • Parmesan Crusted Salmon

    Variations:

    • spicy: add a chopped jalapeno pepper to onion and garlic
    • cheesy: add 1/2 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
    • creamy: add 4 ounces of softened cream cheese, stir until melted and creamy
