Monthly Favorites: April 2016 - my favorite things from this month!

monthly favorites april 16 2

Hi guys!

Today's post is a little bit different. I've had this idea for a few months now and it is 100% inspired by some of my favorite YouTubers. Yep! I am obsessed with YouTube and it all started with a makeup tutorial I found there. From that, I found vloggers (especially whole families vlogging daily) and of course cooking channels. YouTube is a huge community and a very active one. There are so many talented people sharing their knowledge and lives, inspiring others. We (my Hubby and I) started our channel for Crunchy Creamy Sweet blog a few months ago and we love it! Filming cooking videos is not easy and it took us a while to find our style but we are getting the hang of it. We just need more hours in a day to make more! 😀  --->> Follow our channel HERE!!

I love YouTube beauty vloggers and it is safe to say that besides a few mineral makeup items, everything I have in my makeup collection I bought after a beauty vlogger recommendation. I love watching their monthly favorites videos and since I always find new products or receive them as PR samples - I thought it would be super fun to have a place (non-sponsored) where I can share with you my discoveries, just like I do with my friends during our coffee chats or our kids' play dates in the park. 😀

In my Monthly Favorites series I will be sharing my current obsessions with food products, kitchen items, sometimes even home and beauty. If you recently discovered a product and love it - tell me about it in the comment section below! I'd love to see it!

1. Just Mayo

just mayo1

I chose this for number one (don't mind the bottle is pretty much empty) because I am absolutely OBSESSED with this product. It's mind-blowing how good and absolutely delicious this is and we are talking about mayo! Mayo, people! I have to admit, I didn't expect to like it when I received the package from Just Mayo. It was a PR sample for me to try - no strings attached. I got four kinds: Hampton Creek (kind of like original), Garlic, Chipotle and Sriracha. I went straight for the garlic one because I love everything garlic and OMG - so good! So creamy, smooth and perfectly garlicky! My Hubby called dibs on the Chipotle one and he loves it! This mayo is not your regular mayo. It is... are you ready for this? EGG-FREE! Yep! No eggs were used to make this mayo. This mayo is cholesterol-free, non-GMO, soy-free, egg-free, gluten-free, dairy-free and lactose-free.

The only one minus from me for this product is the packaging. This mayo is thick (especially the Hampton Creek and Garlic) so getting it out of the squeeze bottle is not easy. I unscrew the top and use a knife. I will be buying it in the jar next time.

Just Mayo is available in Target, WalMart and Hy-Vee. Price: $3.13 for 12oz. squeeze bottle. You can also purchase the Just Mayo products on Amazon.

2. Cake Boss mixing bowls set

chocolate bars 7

I ADORE these bowls! I use them to make pancake batter on a Sunday morning, make cookie dough or this eggless cupcake batter. Baking is fun to start with and using colorful tools makes it even more fun! The set comes with three bowls: 1.8 qt, 2 qt and 3 qt sizes. Each bowl has a rubberized ring at the base so it will not slide on my surface or twirl while I whisk the ingredients. Love it!
I have the Icing Pattern set. Available on Cake Boss site for $29.99. You can purchase them on Amazon.

PS: There is still time to win cool products in our Cake Boss giveaway!!

3. Mild Pepper Rings

pepper rings 1

I know, I know! This is not a new product at all. But it is new to me in a sense of use. Recently, I started adding these mild pepper rings (chopped) as a topping on our homemade pizza and LOVE it! My Hubby and I are obsessed with it and the zing and peppery flavor it adds. So crazy good! Better in our opinion than fresh chopped bell pepper. I had to share about this! It appears that pepper rings are not for sandwiches only! 😀

I buy the Tuscan Garden brand at ALDI for $1.49.

4. Farm Rich Italian Style Meatballs

Would you like to save this recipe?

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

The best store-bought frozen meatballs that I have ever found. They have a great flavor, perfect size for kiddos which means you can make a dish that the whole family will love! And we all know how picky kids can be. I used these meatballs to make this crazy good Meatball Sub Cheesy Bread and this One Pot Meatball and Tortellini. The flavor is real and like homemade and it the combination of spices used is fabulous. I love the convenience of frozen meatballs and the fact that these are gluten free! I used this 28 oz. bag for two dinners for our family of 5.

Available at many retailers.

5. Pioneer Woman's bowl

pw bowl

I know I am not the only one who ran to WalMart to get my hands on Pioneer Woman's collection of dishes! My store didn't have much when I got this bowl and if I remember correctly, that one was the last one. Score! I love the design and the size. Perfect for a steamy chicken noodle soup serving! Right now this bowl is my photo prop but I do want to get a whole set for us. When I don't use it for my photos, I use it as a fruit bowl. It's so pretty, I want to see it all the time so I fill it with lemons and limes or strawberries and set it on my kitchen counter.

This bowl is available at WalMart and I think I paid $3.99 for it.

6. Kitchen Fair fry pan

kitchen fair pan

When I said I am obsessed with this pan - I meant it! This pan really has not left my stove top since I got it. I already said in my post HERE why I love it (feel free to check it out and save the recipe I made in it!) but I just want to say that I love it for the fact that it's PFOA-free, it's light weight and for it's sleek design.

This product is available through Kitchen Fair distributors. Price: $150

7. pink blush carnations

carnations 1

It's Spring and fresh flowers are everywhere! I am not good in growing them in my garden but I love to have a bouqet on my dining room table and honestly, on any table in the house. They make me happy and bring color (and often fragrance!) to our space. Pink blush flowers are my favorite (right after red roses of course) and these carnations were a gift from my sweet Hubby! Swoon!

8. Milani nail polish "Cupcake Icing"

milani nail polish1

Yes! A makeup item in my favorites this month! With each season, comes a new nail polish color for me. I love this Milani nail lacquer not only for the gorgeous color that's sweetly called but also for the formula. It is long wearing and I should know because I wash dishes all the time (I cook so much!) and that's my test for a nail polish. This one doesn't chip on me and I only need one coat to get a great coverage and beautiful color. Now, I am looking for a coral one for summer!

Available at many retailers (I got mine at Kmart) and on Amazon.

~~~~~
That's it for this month's favorites! I hope you found some new things to check out or saw the ones you love too! Let me know what are you obsessing with this month! 😀
Have a beautiful day, everyone!
    Lots and lots of great things here, but I tell ya, I really want to try the mayo, and wouldn't mind that nail polish either.
