Happy Monday!
How was your weekend? Did you make anything delicious? I hope you did. We are truly enjoying cooler weather, although my Hubby is wondering how long can he keep the grill going. We love BBQ! We could eat it all year long. And I know that a lot of you feel the same. So... we won't look too silly grilling even with two feet of snow on the ground. Right?
Anyways, I think you can see I am stalling here a little bit. It's THE Monday. The CCC Monday wrap-up. I know, I know... It's sad to see it end. As the series progressed, I could see that a lot of you, my dear readers, were enjoying it more and more. All of your comments would melt my heart. Thank you so much for following and trying the recipes I shared.
I thought we would start with the list of all of the installments of the series. Here we go:
1. David Lebovitz's Salted Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
2. Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies
3. Thick and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
4. Dorie Greenspan's Chocolate Chip Cookies

7. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls
8. Waffle Chocolate Chunk Cookies
9. Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt
10. Alton Brown's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
11. Cook's Illustrated Chocolate Chip Cookies

Now, for the most popular chocolate chip cookie variations ( it happens that most of these are cookies in the traditional meaning; rather a use of the dough in a unusual way. )
1. Eggless Chocolate Chip Cookies
2. Chocolate Chunk Cookie Dough Frozen Yogurt.
3. Waffle Chocolate Chunk Cookies.
We were looking for a recipe that would produce a cookie that has a chewy center, crispy edges, is not cakey at all and had wrinkles or craters. That was our goal. Did we achieve it? OH YES! The winner recipe in this series is without a doubt:
Cook's Illustrated Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie!!!
A lot of you already guessed it! Yay!
The use of bread flour gives them the sought-after chewiness. Browning butter is something I will always be doing when making cookies. It's life changing!! And the size... oh, the size definitely matters here. It helps to achieve the texture and chewiness. Besides, if a giant cookie doesn't bring a smile onto your face - I don't know what can!
It's good to know that any time we crave a chocolate chip cookie, we have a recipe for the perfect one. Truly chewy in the center, crispy on the edges and so big that one will satisfy your craving in no time! I will be making it over and over - that's for sure.
I have been asked if there will be a new series to follow along. The answer is: YES! And you will love it! At least I hope you will. I am excited for it and can't wait to start the new journey. But I will not reveal the topic yet. I am still working out a schedule for it and compiling all of the recipes I want to include. Can you guess what it is? 🙂 All I'm going to say is that it involves a lot of chocolate. 😉
What was your favorite CCC Monday episode?
xoxo,
Anna

On the first overcast day in San Diego in a LONG time, I think it's very fitting for me to turn on the oven and bake up a batch of those Cook's Illustrated Perfect CCC's! 🙂

I love the Cook's Illustrated cookie as well, but I think it is the princess dress that really gets me.
I am hoping chocolate cake is on the agenda.
Happy Tuesday Anna!
