Glazed Peanut Butter Bars are easy and delicious! Perfect sweet treat for peanut butter fans!
Glazed Peanut Butter Bars
One of the easiest desserts to make are cookie bars. These peanut butter bars require only 10 minutes of prep time and are topped with a creamy peanut butter glaze. Irresistible treat! If I don't make my Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies, I make a pan of these bars and my whole family devours them.
How to make Peanut Butter Glaze?
-
In a microwave-safe measuring cup, melt together butter and peanut butter. Pour into a medium mixing bowl. Whisk together.
-
Add vanilla ( or coffee ) and whisk again.
-
Add powdered sugar and whisk until smooth and spreadable consistency.
-
If you think your glaze is too thick, you can add a splash of milk to thin it out to spreading consistency.
-
Spread the glaze over a warm cake. Let it cool completely until the glaze sets.

I've been hearing about Hunger Games but never actually looked into it. Well, the true reason is that I usually fall asleep reading English books in a few minutes! Blog reading is more fun and never made me fall asleep, just end up drooling more, especially if food I'm looking at is these bars!!!! YUMM!! 🙂

We love peanut butter (who doesn't?!)! These bars are divine.
Don't know about the book....but kids fighting to death for food? I don't think that's the book for me.
Jen says
The books aren't written very well but I really enjoyed the, even with the squeamish subject matter. I found the arena so creative and unique. But I can see why it would turn you off. I think these peanut butter bars look amazingly good!
Liz says
Mmmmmmm....I'm afraid to bake these b/c I know I would love them so, so much!! Another winner, Anna~

Just wanted to let you know your photos are absolutely beautiful. I'm not even a huge fan of peanut butter and I still want to eat that whole pile!
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
Awww, you are so sweet, Courtney 🙂 Thank you! xoxo

I read the books straight through and loved them. The movie was a bit much. Buying a bow though is just strange. I would like to see that woman catch a rabbit.
Baking Serendipity says
I loved the Hunger Games books. But I'll definitely connect with you over these peanut butter bars. They look fantastic!
Sues says
We can definitely relate on this level. These look incredible. And yes, the Hunger Games is a little morbid, but SO good.
Jessica says
Oh, these would be very dangerous for me! I would probably eat that whole stack with no problem! 🙂 I'm loving that frosting!

My son read the book way back in 2008-2009, when it came out. I never gave it a thought. Come to think of it, he around 10 something at that time, and had just started reading young adult fiction. He didn't like to read much, so anything that he chose and was approved by his teacher, I was more than happy to oblige him. At that time, it wasn't big. It was just another release that excited the kids. I normally read what he reads, but as I cam to know more and more about it, I wanted to read it less and less. He, incidentally, loves peanut butter and will love these cookies.
Also Anna, I have started a Weekend Dinner party link hop - please bring in one of your fab creations there.

I've held off on the Hunger Games despite the hype too, even though I love to read. I'd rather spend my time enjoying food like these bars and being thankful I don't have to fight anyone to have enough food.
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
Phew, I am glad I am not the only one! Thanks, Anna! xo
Danielle says
Hi Anna,
Peanut butter is my weakness! I would love to try these. Actually, I wish I had one right now : )
I'm with you on The Hunger Games. I couldn't bear it so I stay away. Give me a good old fashioned trashy romance novel any day!
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
Should we get on the subject of "50 shades of grey" then? 🙂 Thank you, sweet Danielle! xo
Pam says
Oh my gosh, would I ever love one of these right now! They look delicious and it's great that they're easy too. I so agree with you about the Hunger Games and that poor man. Can't imagine that he actually did it!
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
That was my reaction too! I hope you will give these bars a try - they are soooo worth it! Thank you so much, dear Pam!
Ann P. says
WOW. I am a fan of the Hunger Games books and I'm definitely going to encourage you to read them (takes like a day to read one book, they're soooo engrossing!), but forcing your poor husband to stand in line overnight for a bow to "hunt rabbits" is a little over the top. I mean, you could do that yourself if you love bows so much, hahaha!
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
Right? 🙂 Thank you, sweet Ann!
Ramona says
I love a good peanut butter anything and this looks perfect. I have not read the books or seen the movie either...
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
I am thinking it would be a great dessert after your delicious looking potato curry! Thank you so much, sweet Ramona!
The Café Sucré Farine says
I'm with you on The Hunger Games, no thanks - but I will take that stack of these, thank you! They sound and look amazing!
Anna @ Crunchy Creamy Sweet says
Aww, thank you, Chris 🙂 I am off to check out your salad!
