Glazed Peanut Butter Bars

An easy way to satisfy your peanut butter cravings. Peanut butter bars with a peanut butter glaze. Recipe for bars adapted from Paula Deen.

  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 c peanut butter
  • 1/2 c granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract I used cooled coffee
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 4 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract I used cooled coffee
  • 1 c powdered sugar

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Line a 13" x 9" pan with aluminum foil. Lightly grease the bottom and sides. Set aside.
  3. In a large microwave-safe mixing bowl, melt together peanut butter and butter. Whisk until smooth.
  4. Add both sugars and whisk until all combined. Add vanilla and eggs and whisk until smooth.
  5. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients ( flour, baking powder and salt ). Add to the wet ingredients. Whisk together until smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into prepared baking pan. Spread evenly.
  7. Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the sides are golden brown.
  8. Prepare the glaze, while your bars are cooling.
  9. In a microwave-safe measuring cup, melt together butter and peanut butter.
  10. Pour into a medium mixing bowl. Whisk together.
  11. Add vanilla ( or coffee ) and whisk again.
  12. Add powdered sugar and whisk until smooth and spreadable consistency.
  13. If you think your glaze is too thick, you can add a splash of milk to thin it out to spreading consistency.
  14. Spread the glaze over a warm cake. Let it cool completely until the glaze sets.
  15. Cut into bars.
