Bacon Mushroom Chicken Alfredo Recipe - creamy pasta that couldn't be easier to make! Bacon, mushrooms, chicken and garlicky Parmesan Alfredo sauce with fettuccine will make it your new favorite.
Let's take a break from salads and detox soups and make some cozy food. Creamy pasta with bacon, mushrooms and chicken that the whole family will love. Dinner on the table in 20 minutes - yes, please!
You may already know that I (and my Hubby is right there with me) absolutely love Alfredo pasta. So much in fact, that I’ve learned how to make it at home and, if I can be honest, it’s even better than the restaurant one. Check out my Homemade Alfredo Sauce recipe and make it soon!
HOW TO MAKE BACON MUSHROOM CHICKEN ALFREDO?
Cook pasta according to instructions on the package.
In a large deep pan, cook bacon until crispy. Remove onto a paper towel lined plate. Drain most of the bacon grease from pan. Add one tablespoon of butter and one tablespoon of olive oil. Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute, stirring often.
Add chicken pieces, salt and pepper. Cook until chicken is no longer pink, about 7 to 9 minutes. Stir often, keep loosely covered most of the time.
Add mushrooms to chicken in pan. Cook until soft, stirring often. Add chicken bouillion cube and water. Stir until cube dissolves.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together half and half, cornstarch, Parmesan and oregano. Whisk well. Add to pan. Bring to boil, lower the heat to simmer and cook for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens. Crumble or chop bacon. Add pasta and bacon and stir to coat with sauce.
I simplified the recipe and made it fool-proof without sacrificing the flavor. It’s creamy, garlicky and has a perfect dose of Parmesan cheese. I often make a jar of it a day ahead and save on time.
HOW CAN I ADAPT THIS PASTA RECIPE?
This chicken Alfredo is taken to another level with the addition of bacon (hello! How could you say no!) and mushrooms. I love it! In fact, I have this dish in our weekly routine. Sometimes, I will add fresh spinach or artichokes or red and yellow peppers in place of mushrooms. You can play with this recipe, which makes it even better. Need to skip chicken? Add white beans instead! Add fresh lemon zest for a pop of flavor. So good!
HOW TO SERVE THIS PASTA?
This recipe is perfect for those days when you are not sure what to make for dinner, you didn’t plan or your plans changed and everyone is craving comfort food. Creamy Alfredo will never fail! My family is always happy to have it for dinner. Served with crusty bread or our famous Easy Garlic Bread and a Caesar salad and you have a filling and delicious meal that didn’t take much work at all.
This dish is also perfect to serve for date nights, for special guests or make for friends and family in need of a home cooked meal (new moms, or those who are recovering from illness) or simply made just because.

YUM!!! Such an easy cook and so delish!
I used cream and next time would use half the cornflour - it was a little to thick for me however still so good
Would this recipe still work well with a different type of pasta? maybe bow ties?
Hi Kimberley! Yes, you can use bow ties. Any pasta works, really. Enjoy!
SO DELICIOUS!! My husband could not get enough! He even asked to take leftovers for work the next day!! I used heavy cream instead of half and half. But I added a 1/2 cup more than what the recipe called for because it’s so much thicker. And plus, there’s cornstarch added in as well. I might leave out the cornstarch next time and just do the heavy cream though. This recipe is amazing and will definitely be a staple in our home. I can’t wait to invite friends over for dinner!!! Bravo!!
Hi Monique! Yay! That's fantastic! I am so glad you both like the Alfredo. Thank you so much for trying my recipe and for the amazing comment! Have a beautiful day! PS: If you are using heavy cream, you don't need the cornstarch. 🙂
Hi, I’m making this right now. When do I add in the cooked bacon??
Hi Gail! Add it when the sauce is all done, at the end. I will specify it in the recipe. Let me know how you like the dish!
This was outstanding! Super creamy! Added much freshly cracked black pepper.
This is so creamy! I wish it was in front of me for lunch! I love that there's a bit more garlic in this dish than maybe some would add? It looks amazing!
I've never had bacon and/or mushrooms in an alfredo pasta and looking a this, I can't imagine HOW I've failed myself. This looks and sounds amazing, and is just in time for heavier comfort food weather 🙂 This sounds super flavorful.

Oh I LOVE that you make your own alfredo at home! Homemade is always better. And I love alfredo too, unfortunately my waistline doesn't so I try to limit how much we eat of it here. With that said, the addition of bacon?! YES. This is totally a recipe that we'll use when we're ready to indulge! Go big or go home!

I have yet to find a recipe that hasn't been made better with the addition of bacon and mushrooms. Chicken in a cream sauce always makes the dish extra special. This is pure comfort food. Looking forward to making it soon.
My mom basically thinks if you have a cream sauce you will die of a heart attack on the spot. So, I never got to eat stuff like this growing up. I've now learned that everything is good in moderation and I was actually surprised to see the that the recipe didn't have a ton of butter and could be made with whole milk, not lots of heavy cream. My husband would LOVE this. I'll have to show him the recipe (he does most of the cooking around here!) Thanks for sharing!
I am all about this pasta right now. Seriously, you succeeded in making me hungry even though I already ate. I seriously am making this like, tomorrow.
I am soooo hungry right now and this recipe is making me DROOL. The bacon, the mushroom, and the chicken covered with a creamy sauce with pasta? I want seconds! I need to go make this now.
Bookmarked this for the cooler weather. Sounds just perfect for a comfort meal on a fall or winter day. Love the suggestion of making the alfredo the day before so it's super quick to make when you're in the mood. AWESOME!!
This is a pasta lover dream dinner. You cannot resist that creamy Alfredo sauce. Chicken and mushrooms are a great combination. We ALL know that BACON makes everything that much more delicious. All I need is a glass of wine...and I would call this dinner any night of the week.
This needs to be added to our weeknight dinner rotation!

That looks so warm and comforting! Yummy! Cannot wait to try this. Thank you for a great recipe!
Great idea about adding spinach to it too! Looks fantastic!
What a comforting pasta dish!
I really like the ease of this recipe, especially to two pans. Only one needs heavy cleaning. Definitely saving this recipe, a weeknight winner for sure! Thanks for sharing this:)

It sounds delicious!
When should the milk be added? And am I crazy for wanting to use cream?
Hi Trine! The milk or half and half is used in step 5. If you are using cream, omit the cornstarch. I hope you love it! -Anna

This looks like a winner at my house. Thanks! I'm sorry if I missed it, how much pasta does this call for?
Hi Robby! Thank you so much! I updated the recipe with the amount of pasta. It should be 8 ounces. I hope you will give this recipe a try. Have a wonderful week! -Anna
It already looked good, then you added bacon. You WIN you WIN YOU WIN!!!

I could totally eat this weekly. Alfredo is one of our dinner favorites...just wish I could get everyone on board the mushroom train 🙁 Adding the bacon might help though!
I love that you added bacon and mushrooms! It sounds absolutely delicious.
This is the BEST kind of comfort food for the wintertime! I could totally use a giant bowl tonight...
I love how creamy and delicious this dish looks! Thank you for sharing!
The addition of bacon is genius! I love alfredo and am dying to give this a taste!
This is alfredo perfection! Seriously, it doesn't get much better than bacon, mushroom and alfredo!
There are so many things I love about this dish; bacon, mushrooms, alfredo sauce. But my favorite part is that you make a jar of alfredo sauce the day before you need it! This kind of recipe saves me on super busy days!
