    Why This Recipe Works

Raise your hand if you love roasted garlic! I absolutely love it in so many dishes. But it always seems like such a big deal to heat up an oven to roast one bulb. Air fryer to the rescue! I can roast one (or more!) in half the time and without heating up the whole house. It's quick, easy and so convenient!

    Ingredients:

    • garlic: fresh bulb
    • oil: I used olive oil

How to roast garlic in the air fryer?

Fresh garlic bulb on a sheet of aluminum foil.
    • Start by cutting off the top of the garlic bulb to expose the cloves.
    • Place the bulb on a small sheet of aluminum foil.
    • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
    • Close the foil into a pouch and place it on an air fryer rack or basket.
    • Roast for 20 to 25 minutes.
    • Remove the pouch from the air fryer, cool for a few minutes, then open and remove the bulb.
    • Cool until safe to the touch. Using a butter knife or a small spoon, pop the cloves out of the shell.
    • Use right away or store for later.

    How to use it?

Roasted garlic is delicious by itself on a bagel, toast or bruschetta. Simply spread it with a knife, it's very soft. You can also add it to butter, dips, spreads, pasta sauces, etc.

My favorite way to enjoy it is to make Garlic Aioli, add it to potato salad (mix it with the dressing) or add to my Homemade Alfredo Sauce. It's sweet, nutty and delicious!

    Recipe FAQs:

    How to store roasted garlic?

After removing the cloves from the shell, cool them completely and use right away or store in a small jar with lid, in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Do I need to use aluminum foil?

I tested this recipe wrapping garlic bulbs in aluminum foil and parchment paper. Both work great! The result is the same. One thing to keep in mind when using parchment paper is to close it tightly so the edges of the paper are not close to your heating element.

Can I roast more than one garlic bulb?

Absolutely! You can roast as many as you can fit in your air fryer basket.

Came out roasted just perfectly! I used this while working on a copycat TFIFriday's Jack Daniel Sauce that recommended using roasted garlic and it was perfect! I'm using the rest for garlic aioli!

What a fantastic idea, so simple, yet so genius. I adore garlic and add it to everything, I added this to avocado toast and it adored it. This will forever be a staple.
