10-Minute Hot Fudge Sauce - incredibly simple and delicious hot fudge sauce made with brown sugar, cocoa powder, butter, milk and vanilla. You can make it in just 10 minutes!

Serve this sauce over my Whipped Milk Ice Cream or stirred into the Chocolate Cherry Ice Cream.

10-MINUTE HOT FUDGE SAUCE

I totally ate that slice of cake after the photoshoot. In case you were wondering. 🙂 And in case you are looking for a great Fudge Sauce recipe (that tastes like the store-bought kind), you came to the right place. This recipe is my go-to when I need a quick and easy sauce for desserts. Perfect for ice cream, cakes, drizzle on cupcakes or swirl in milkshakes. Possibilities are endless and once you make a batch of this sauce, you will never buy a jar in a store.

Hot Fudge Sauce Ingredients:

This easy Fudge Sauce really does come together in 10 minutes. It requires only a handful of ingredients, that you probably already have in your pantry:

  • brown sugar
  • cocoa powder
  • butter
  • milk
  • vanilla extract

How to make the best Hot Fudge Sauce?

  • Mix brown sugar and cocoa powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan, cook butter and milk until it starts to bubble ( about 5 min on medium heat). Add cocoa mixture. Stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, cook for 2 minutes until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Let sit for at least 5 minutes. It will thicken.
  • Store covered in a refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Reheat for 10 seconds in the microwave before using.

It literally takes 10 minutes to make. And you can use it right away or let it cool to room temperature and thicken a bit more. It has a fabulous cocoa flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness.

How long does this sauce last?

Store it covered in a refrigerator for up to a week but I have a feeling it won't last that long. And you can't blame me if you find yourself looking for excuses to use it. 🙂

How can I make this sauce lighter?

You can use almond milk and "Sugar in the Raw" per one of our reader's recommendations.

OMG! It's SO good. I even used almond milk and "Sugar in the Raw" as substitutes because that's what I had on hand, and it is still amazing!! Better than anything you can buy in a store! Thanks for the recie!!

In my house we called this chocolate syrup. Mom made it to eat over ice cream or in milk. Tasty!

Thanks to a recent (painful) trip to the dentist, I have to live on soft food for a few days (oh, hello, Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream!). Now I know exactly how to doctor it up! 😀
