Monthly Favorites: September 2016 - my favorite things from the past month!

I skipped the August Favorites for one simple reason: I didn't have any to share. I was actually enjoying the faves from the July post and most of August we spent enjoying the outdoors. But today I am back with my favorites and I hope you will find some new products to try. 😀

1. TRAVEL 

I know this is not a product but it's something we have been enjoying and loving a lot lately. Like I mentioned, we spent some time enjoying the outdoors, just being in the nature. We work so much that when you get out there and witness the beauty of Mother Nature - it takes your breath away. Next thing you say is "Why don't we do it more often?". Simple: life is busy. The photo below is a sunset on the lake. I took a ton of photos of the lake and the area and each one I loved more.  I highly encourage you to find that spot outdoors, be it by the lake or hiking and get there. Even if you have to drive there. It's refreshing and recharging. We love it!

2. Sunkist Fruit Chips 

Since we are talking about trips, here is a product I used to make snack bags for us to munch on while we travel. Sunkist sent me a box full of their trail mixes and fruit chips and we loved them! My kids declared the banana chips their favorite and I agree, with strawberry chips being second fave. The chips are freeze dried fruit, with no sugar added. So so good!

3. KRUPS Programmable Coffee Maker

This coffee maker is the one we took on our RV trip last month and I love it! I love the design and the size, it fit perfectly in my kitchenette. Since I always drink coffee with my Hubby and we often have more than one cup, I am always looking for coffee makers that make a whole carafe. The fact that the carafe is hidden in the machine is great since we had it in the RV and I didn't have to worry about it sliding out. It has a BOLD option and I know that it also comes with a stainless steel carafe. It also has a water filtration system and a filter that you just wash after each use, so no need for paper filters.

5. Stonewall Kitchen Jams and Preserves

Holiday season is upon us and if you are looking for a great gift, I have just the idea for you! Stonewall Kitchen makes fantastic products, including jams, fruit butters, preserves that make for a great gift basket for friends and family. I absolutely love their raspberry jam and it is the one I used to make this Raspberry Coconut Sour Cream Crumb Pie. It is crazy good! My second favorite would be the blueberry preserves. They have whole berries in them and it is not too sweet. Perfect for baking or spreading over a toasted bagel. So good!

6. Simply Nature products at ALDI 

By now, you probably know that I love ALDI stores. I shop there every week. One of my favorite line of products carried by ALDI stores is the Simply Nature. I love the quinoa and recently I found these green lentils. They are fantastic! Great source of iron which I always need and look for!

7. REEVA Dish Soap

Another ALDI stores winner is their dish soap! If you are a fan of Dawn dish soap for it's potency and efficiency. Besides the standard green and blue (the most comparable to Dawn in my opinion), ALDI also has seasonal dish soap! My favorite for this fall: apple cinnamon. 😀

8. The Weeknight Dinner Cookbook by Mary Younkin 

The last but certainly not least, is my food blogging friend's cookbook, The Weeknight Dinner Cookbook by Mary Younkin. Mary is the creator of Barefeet in the Kitchen blog and one of the sweetest bloggers out there. I am loving Mary's book!
