Homemade Mocha Frappuccino - a copycat coffee drink perfect for the hot days of Summer! It takes only 2 minutes to whip it up!
Why You'll Love This Recipe
Our Monday just got better.
Because in my book, a chocolate and coffee blended with ice into a perfect chilled drink can make any day better. Plus, a homemade copycat that tastes way better then the store-bought is always a winner.
It's this time of year! Iced coffee is my everyday companion. I made a run to my local grocery store the other day. It was hot and humid. Our store has Starbucks inside and it is very convenient for the shoppers to grab a frappe and shop. I must have passed at least a dozen of people with a shopping basket in one hand and Starbucks cup in the other. That left me craving a chilled coffee drink. As soon as I got home, I pulled out my Blendtec and made this beauty. I still love to start the day with a hot cup of joe but this chilled frappuccino is like a treat and recently, it even replaced my afternoon dessert. Because it is like a dessert in a mug! Fudge sauce, whipped cream and all!
- half and half or milk
- fudge sauce
How to make mocha frappuccino?
- Measure out all ingredients.
- Place everything in the blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour into a serving mug, and top with extra whipped cream and fudge sauce.
Why is this recipe the best:
Two things make it absolutely irresistible:
- it takes 2 minutes to whip it up in a blender (one step only)
- there is my favorite 10-Minutes Fudge Sauce in it!
Don't you just want to slurp it down?
Crazy good! Especially with the addition of whipped cream and a drizzle of the glorious fudge sauce. By the way, you NEED to try my fudge sauce recipe. It's so fast and easy to make. So fill up the jar, pop the straw in, kick off the sandals and put your feet up!

Homemade Mocha Frappuccino
- 1 cup ice cubes
- ½ cup coffee I used freshly brewed and cooled
- ⅓ cup of half and half or milk
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3 Tablespoons fudge sauce
- Place all ingredients in blender and blend till smooth. Add more ice for more frothy drink.
- Please note, that the nutrition value can vary depending on what product you use. The information below is an estimate. Always use calorie counter you are familiar with.
- Feel free to use almond milk for a dairy-free version.
I omitted the sugar and replaced the half and half with Califia cold brew almond milk mocha. It was yummy.
At first I made it with skim milk and chocolate syrup, which was okay, but not great. But then I made it with half-and-half and fudge sauce, and HOLY MOLY IT'S TASTY. (I used regular coffee both times, but I think I might try espresso next time...)
I used Hershey’s syrup and it was AMAZING!!! Better than Starbucks!
Can I use lactose free milk? And can I substitute the fudge with something?
In the ingredients it doesn’t say what type of coffee to use, what do you recommend to use in this recipe?
I use espresso which I find is the best but you can really use anything/.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Thank you, Fionna!
Hi Anna I want to make this today from what the comments are saying but I don’t like coffee... can I do no coffe and it still be good?! At Starbucks I get this drink with no coffee and it’s just a treat a quick reply would be amazing!!!! I soooo want to try it😂
Hi Lexi! Hmm, I am not sure what you could substitute here. I never made it without coffee. Without it, it will be like chocolate milk, frappuccino style.
Ok thank you I’m just gonna try it I don’t think it will taste bad either way I love chocolate😂 I will let you know how it turns out!
Perfect! I hope you love it!
You were correct it basically was a chocolate milk slush if anyone wants to know I added a bit more ice and milk but yea honestly I have tried a lot of these receptors and this is the best one even though it is so simple!
add chocolate chips
Made this during the storm, definitely a hit with the hubby! (I added a little extra sugar because we're sugar fiends lol) Will probably be making these daily from now on!
OMG IM 14 AND LOVE STARBUCKS. this is so good and i used heresy sauce because i didn’t have fudge definitely a new favorite
Hi Lily! Yay! That's awesome! I am so glad you love it!

I just made this and i love it!
Thanks so much!
Love this! It tastes just like the real drink! I might even like this version better! (Sometimes the baristas at Starbucks add too much syrup) Thank you for this awesome recipe! 😃
Thank you so much, Rosie!
I love this recipe!! I usually add some peanut butter, which isn’t in the original Starbucks frappe but gives it a sort of milkshake texture 🙂
Hi Julie! That's awesome! Thank you so much! I totally love the peanut butter addition. Can't wait to try it. 😀
Hi Anna,I was wondering if I could use unsweetened almond milk for the milk and a banana in place of the sugar? Thanks in advance for a reply
Hi! The unsweetened almond milk will definitely work just fine. The banana will probably change the texture but I would say go for it!
I tried this tonight. Unfortunately I didn't look at the recipe before shopping today lol, so I used Truvia sugar instead and didn't have the hot fudge. It still was good. I want to make it the right way next time.

I would gladly give up dessert for one of these everyday. Coffee has a way with my heart.

This mocha frappuccino looks awesome! It's the perfect way to start the day!!!!
Ummmm, yes - I totally DO want to slurp this down. NOW! As a matter of fact, I have everything needed to make one for myself.
This looks delish! So excited to recreate fancy Starbucks drinks at home 🙂
I always make my coffee drinks at home and this one looks like a great summer afternoon treat! Great photos!
I too need to start the day w/ a hot cup, but come mid day I'm always looking for an iced/frozen treat in the form of caffeine. They have a Starbucks in my Target store and I am totally guilty of spending WAY too much on drinks there!
This looks fantastic but you are wrong in asserting that only two things make it irresistible Anna. For me NOT paying $4 for one is the most irresistible reason to make your own! 🙂
An iced mocha frappuccino is my absolutely favorite for a hot afternoon! Even better when I can make it at home for so much less than buying it.
I love this version of the frappuccino! I work at Starbucks and the actual recipe is way to sweet for my taste. This would be a perfect way to cool off in the summer.
I could use a homemade frapp right now!! YUM!
Ahhhh....this looks so good! And you saved me a trip to Starbucks too!
You're right - coffee and chocolate together in a drink can turn a bad day around in a heartbeat! Love it!

I would have to make these for my hubby every day
Sign me up for THIS! I love a good mocha. That's usually what I order at Starbucks 🙂
This is seriously the best looking summer pick me up!!!! I'm going to need a few of these in my life this summer for sure!!!
