Air Fryer French Fries are a delicious and healthy version of a popular fast food side dish. These fries are crispy yet made with almost no oil.

Why This Recipe Works
If you ever made homemade French fries, you know how messy deep-frying them can get. Not to mention the amount of oil they absorb. The air fryer lets me make this popular side without the mess and almost no oil. Simply cut the potatoes, spray lightly with olive oil, and season with your favorite seasoning. It only takes 20 minutes to cook them! It's so much easier and healthier. Serve them with homemade ketchup or the Big Mac Sauce copycat!
Ingredients needed:
- Russet potatoes
- salt and pepper
- olive oil (I used a spray)
How to make French Fries in Air Fryer?
- Start by peeling the skin off your potatoes, then cut them into French fries.
- Place cut potatoes in a bowl and cover with water. Let them sit for about 1 hour.
Would you like to save this recipe?
- Drain the potatoes and rinse them once or twice.
- Tap the potatoes with a paper towel.
- Spray them with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. Shake or stir to coat.
- Spread them in a single layer in the air fryer basket or trays.
- Set the air fryer to 390 degrees F and air fryer the potatoes for 15 minutes. Shake them or switch the trays and air fry for 5 to 8 minutes more.
- Check if they are crispy to your preferences. Air fry for a couple more minutes if needed.
Recipe FAQs:
Serve them with my Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets or Fried Chicken and my homemade ketchup for a family-friendly dinner with fewer calories.
Frozen fries that you buy in a store are partially cooked, so the air frying time will be shorter.
I always recommend and use Russet potatoes. They are longer than other potatoes and have the signature French fry flavor.
