Homemade Wheat Thins - super simple recipe for crackers made with whole wheat flours. Make a whole bunch in just 20 minutes and enjoy with spreads or dips!

HOMEMADE WHEAT THINS

After you learn how easy and quick it is to make wheat thins at home, you will be whipping them up in no time! I made three batches in two days and each time they would disappear in a flash.

This recipe is so easy. The dough comes together in the food processor in about 5 minutes. You can also do it by hand. Just whisk the dry ingredients together, cut in butter and drizzle in the water to form a dough. Shape it into a ball and roll it out very very thin. Cut into squares, place on baking sheet and bake for about 6 to 8 minutes. Cool on the sheet and enjoy your homemade wheat thins. And it all happens in under 20 minutes! If you don't like wheat flour, try my Homemade Crackers recipe. It's as easy and delicious too!

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE WHEAT THINS?

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Place flour, sugar, salt, paprika and butter in food processor and process for 20 seconds, until all combined. With the food processor running, drizzle in the water until the dough forms a ball.
  • Transfer the dough onto a flat surface and roll out very thin, yet not see-through.
  • Using a pizza cutter, cut the rolled out dough into 1 and ½ inch squares. Place squares on prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with additional salt, if you like them salty. Bake until the edges start to turn golden brown.

Enjoy with some tasty dip, homemade hummus, or spread some peanut butter love over them. Or better yet, make some healthy s'mores! Sandwich a square of chocolate and a big size marshmallow between two wheat thins and toast it up. Yummers!

I made these in my kitchen aid (no food processor) and they worked great just took a little longer to mix and a little extra water. I only had salted butter at home so i used that and didnt add any other salt.I also added some Parmesan to them instead of paprika. They are delicious! Thanks so much!

It always amazes me when someone can make a homemade dish that my mind only thinks comes in a box. I'm like how did they do that... it's magic. But when I looked at the short ingredient list.... I'm even more impressed. Why do we buy it from a box when it's so good homemade. 🙂 Well done my friend.

This recipe is one I have bookmarked both online and in my actual cookbook of theirs, I have the page dog-eared! It was either the graham crackers I made a few weeks ago, or Wheat Thins and I went GCs. WT's may be next. Yours are perfect, Anna! Pinning!
