Instant Pot Honey-Orange Glazed Ham - spiral-cut ham cooked in 10 minutes in the Instant Pot, glazed with sweet and delicious honey citrus glaze with cinnamon and cloves.
It's never been easier to cook ham for your holiday dinner! My Instant Pot Pineapple Brown Sugar Ham is a proof. This time, we are using a spiral-cut ham, making a sweet and delicious glaze with honey, orange juice, brown sugar, cinnamon and cloves to flavor each slice and using the Instant Pot to heat it up for 10 minutes. Done! Gorgeous and delicious in every bite ham is ready to be served.
This Instant Pot Honey-Orange Glazed Ham is sweet, citrusy and spiced. Using the IP is the fastest way to cook spiral-cut ham for your holiday dinner. It does a great job heating up ham, so you can use the oven to make side dishes or a dessert. Sweet and spiced ham with orange and honey glaze is the perfect main dish for your holiday dinner.
Instructions:
- Start by mixing honey, brown sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a glass measuring cup. Mix well, letting the sugar dissolve as much as possible. Set your spiral-cut ham on a cutting board. Pour 1 to 2 teaspoons of the honey mixture between slices (no need to pour over top, since this is sliced ham), but make sure to leave ½ of the mixture for glazing after cooking.
- Make sure the stainless steel insert is in your Instant Pot. Add 1 cup of water to the insert. Set trivet inside. Place your ham on the trivet. Close the lid and set the valve to "sealing" position (newer IP models do it as soon as you close the lid). Press "manual" setting and set timer to 10 minutes. The Instant Pot will beep after a few seconds and it will start coming to pressure. It can take about 15 minutes.
- While the ham is cooking, place the remaining honey-orange mixture in a small saucepan and heat up on the stove or place in a heat-proof bowl and heat up in the microwave. Cook until bubbles. Remove from heat and let cool. It will thicken.
- Once the ham is done, remove from IP, set on a serving platter, pour honey-orange glaze over slices. Serve.
The glaze:
This orange glaze is absolutely irresistible! In a measuring cup, mix honey, brown sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Use half to pour between slices (no need to pour on top, since we are using sliced ham) and heat up the remaining mixture until bubbles. You can do it on the stove, in a small saucepan, or in a heat-proof bowl in the microwave. Let it cool, it will thicken like a glaze. Once the ham is done, pour glaze over slices.

Spiral cut ham vs. whole ham:
Spiral-cut ham makes it super easy to flavor each slice with the honey-orange spiced mixture. Simply pour about 2 teaspoons of the orange mixture between slices.
My Husband and I both agree that uncut ham is way juicier cooked in the Instant Pot. Actually, the same goes for the oven cooked ham. Spiral-cut ham won't hold juices while cooking, they will simply escape onto the bottom of the Instant Pot insert or baking dish. The ham is still delicious, but it will taste more like a ham baked in the oven. You can use uncut ham for this recipe and if it's around 4 lbs, cook for 10 minutes on "manual" setting on high pressure.

Instant Pot Honey-Orange Glazed Ham recipe
Ingredients
- 4 lb spiral-cut ham
- ¼ cup honey
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup orange juice
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Mix honey, brown sugar, orange juice, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a glass measuring cup.
- When the time is up, let the IP release pressure naturally for 5 minutes, then switch the valve to "venting" position to release any remaining pressure.
- Once the ham is done, remove from IP, set on a serving platter, pour honey-orange glaze over slices. Serve.

Can this be made with a frozen ham? And if so what would be the adjusted cooking time?
