These Air Fryer Pasta Chips may surprise you! Bow-tie pasta is cooked, tossed with cheese and seasoning, and air-fried until crispy. It’s a fun and super easy snack!
In a pasta pot, bring water to a boil. Add ½ teaspoon of salt and pasta. Stir and cook until al dente and then 2 to 3 more minutes.
1 cup bow-tie pasta
Drain pasta and place in a large mixing bowl.
Add freshly grated Parmesan cheese and seasoning. Toss gently to coat.
2 teaspoons olive oil, ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ¼ teaspoon paprika
Preheat the air fryer to 400° Fahrenheit.
Spread pasta in a single layer; it's okay if some of them overlap on the edges. Just don't toss the whole amount of pasta into the air fryer.
Place basket in the air fryer, press "air fry" setting and set timer to 8 minutes. Shake the basket or turn over the pasta halfway through baking time. Cook for 2 more minutes, if needed.
Remove pasta chips from air fryer and let them cool.
Serve with dipping sauce.
Notes
I find that if the pasta is cooked al dente, the center of the bow tie remains hard and chewy. I prefer the pasta to be cooked past the al dente point for this recipe.
To bake in the oven: preheat your oven to 380 degrees F and arrange pasta on a large baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes OR until crispy!
