Easy Skillet Caramel Apples are a must this fall. Great as pancake toppings, crepe filling or and addition to your morning oatmeal.

  • 6 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 medium apples (I like to mix them: 2 Gala apples, 2 Granny Smith apples), washed, cored, sliced
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves (or nutmeg)
  • 1/2 c heavy whipping cream


  1. Melt butter in cast iron skillet.
  2. Add apple slices.
  3. Sprinkle the apple slices with cinnamon and cloves.
  4. cook until soft but not mushy.
  5. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar and cream.
  6. Pour over apples.
  7. Bring to bubbly over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. Use as topping for oatmeal, pancakes or waffles or as a filling for crepes
