  • 5 cups rice chex cereal
  • 10 oz white chocolate chips or white candy melts
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil or vegetable shortening solid
  • 2 drops of red gel food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoons strawberry extract I used McCormick's Imitation Strawberry Extract
  • 1.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup red and pink M&M's


  1. Place chex cereal in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Place chocolate and coconut oil (or shortening) in a heat-proof dish and melt in a microwave or in a double boiler. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add food coloring and extract to chocolate and stir until smooth.
  4. Pour melted chocolate over cereal and stir until well coated.
  5. Place powdered sugar into a ziploc bag or a large plastic container with lid.
  6. Add chocolate coated cereal to the powdered sugar, seal and shake to coat the cereal.
  7. Place puppy chow into a serving bowl and mix with M&M's.
  8. Serve.
