  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 6 cups shredded red cabbage
  • 1 Granny Smith apple sliced thinly
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  1. In a deep skillet, heat up olive oil.
  2. Add chopped onion and saute for 4 to 5 minutes, until translucent.
  3. Add apple and cabbage and stir in. Add vinegar and water and stir in.
  4. Cover the skillet and lower heat to medium-low. Cook cabbage, stirring once in a while and adding more water if needed.
  5. Cook until soft, 25 to 30 minutes.
