Wash and dry mushrooms. Slice into about ¼" slices (not too thin). You can even just slice them in half if they are particularly small.
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add mushrooms and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add garlic and thyme. Saute for 4 to 5 minutes, or until mushrooms are soft and the dish is fragrant.
Season with salt and pepper.
Notes
You can use shiitake or white mushrooms too.
