This Instant Pot Yogurt recipe is easy, budget-friendly and absolutely delicious! Serve it with fruit, granola or use to make desserts or muffins and breads.
Press the YOGURT button and then the "adjust" button until it displays "boil". It will take about 30 minutes. It is done when the display shows "yogt".
Once the cooking cycle is done, remove the lid and check the temperature of the milk. It should read at least 180 degrees F.
Remove the insert with milk and set aside to cool. You can speed up this process by placing it in an ice-water bath. Cool the milk to 105 degrees F.
Place yogurt in a small bowl. Add ¼ cup of the milk from your Instant Pot and stir. Add the mixture to the rest of milk and stir together.
If you used ice water bath, wipe the bottom and sides of the pot to make sure it is not wet. Place the pot back in your Instant Pot.
Press YOGURT button until it shows 8:00. The IP should be set to normal pressure.
Once the cycle is done, remove the pot with yogurt and set aside to cool. Do not stir. Once cooled completely, you can place it in the fridge to chill or place in jars or containers with lids.
Notes
If you want the Greek yogurt texture, strain the yogurt through a cheesecloth, by setting it over a bowl and letting it sit in the fridge overnight.
