Hello, New Year! Let's have FUN!
While you may be making a list of resolutions for the new year, I am thinking of a word that I want to go by in 2015. My Husband and I have been discussing this for the past few weeks, and we decided on the word FUN.
You see, we have not been fun for the past few years. Or at least not as fun as we would like to be! 🙂 I am a worrier of nature and it's easy for me to hold us back because I worry that something bad is going to happen. That's why we don't travel (unless necessary). Car accidents are one of my biggest fears. Having babies for the past 8 years accelerated my worrying side even more. I am a helicopter parent and constantly worry that our kids will get hurt if I don't know what they are doing. Makes it hard for me to let anyone babysit for us. But this year I want to make memories and have a ton of fun! I will still worry but I will try to let go more and let our family have fun and make fun memories.
Starting this year, we are making an effort to have fun. As in, actually plan fun events and make them happen. And take photos. Lots of photos! My love for photography started with taking photos of my babies. Since starting the blog, I've been taking lots of food photos and not too many people photos. I am in a process of making a list (the old fashioned way, with a pen on a paper) of one fun event for each month. And birthdays don't count, as they should be special on their own!
I am also trying to get back to photographing more and outside of the food department. We took a very adorable movie of our kiddos on the Christmas Day. We watched it for the first time yesterday and I am so happy that we have it and I know it will be so fun to watch it when the kids get older. Hopefully, we can just add to the collection and make more movies each year. I've also joined a photography project. I am sure many of you know the Project365. I've been meaning to join it for years and finally did! Our group is a little bit different. We call it the Imperfect 365 because you can join anytime, you can skip days and still be a part of it. Like my friend, Kristen who started the group said, any amount of photos is better than zero! You can learn more about the project and our group and join us (!!!), here.
One of the fun things that we want to do is definitely travel this year. Recently, we had to take a trip up to Minnesota and after we came back, I realized that we did pretty good. As in, we can actually travel with kids! We have a few places on our to-visit list but if you have any recommendations, feel free to leave it in the comment section. We would love to see them!
So here is to worrying less and having more fun in 2015!! Hope you will join us!!

Anna, I love your word for 2015. Having FUN is important. I'm like you, always worry about things and I'm not a risk taker. But this quote really helps me to overcome my worries: "Worrying doesn't take away tomorrows troubles, it takes away today's peace."
I love traveling. There are so many beautiful places to see. Yellowstone NP is absolutely the best. So many awesome hot springs and gorgeous blue pools. Natural beauty at its best. Another my favorite spot is Crater Lake in OR. It's a little scary to drive up through fog and spiral road, but the pay-off is magical. No matter where you go, you'll have fun. 🙂

I love your travel suggestions, Shinee! We would love to go to Yellowstone, for sure. And the quote - LOVE it! Thank you so much!
