The perfect Valentine’s Day gift! There is a certain holiday coming up. One that is all shades of red and pink. One that is filled with heart confetti and glitter. One that is made of all types of chocolate. Yep, it’s the Valentine’s Day. For my Husband and I, it’s also our wedding anniversary. You may think that puts an extra pressure on us to make the day special. I am here to tell you that all you need is a little bit of planning and you can celebrate Valentine’s Day without the stress. Being a dessert blogger also gives me the opportunity to celebrate for few weeks, since I make a lot of desserts in this theme. And when it comes to special desserts, most people want easy. So how about a rich and indulgent chocolate truffle with a hint of orange rolled in sparkly, pink sugar and sprinkles? Oh, and did I mention that you only need 3 ingredients to make them? Green & Black’s Organic Chocolates is one of my favorite sweet indulgences. I have days when I am craving their Dark 70% bar (also my Hubby’s favorite) and days when I want to nib on the Milk Chocolate bar. There is always something to choose from since the company makes 11 different flavors. The dedication to choose only fine organic ingredients and the fact that the chocolates are Fairtrade certified, makes them them even better. Tie a red ribbon over your loved one’s favorite Green & Black’s Organic Chocolate bar, insert a sweet note and leave it on their desk for a sweet surprise. To make an easy platter of treats for a Valentine’s Day evening, I love to pair Green & Black’s Organic Chocolates with dried, pitted dates (you can place a small square of the chocolate inside the date!), along with a glass of merlot and juicy red grapes. But if you want to take it all a step further and use this decadent chocolate in a recipe, I suggest these Dark Chocolate Orange Truffles. This special kind of chocolate requires a special recipe and truffles quickly come to mind, since for me they are the gourmet candy that is so perfect to share with a loved one, on a special day. The fact that they are so easy to make (hello, only 3 ingredients) makes them an instant winner in my book. Dark chocolate and orange is also one of our favorite flavor pairings so I knew these little sweet balls will be a huge hit!
